To fix the error, follow these steps below:
- Update the latest version of iTunes.
- Re-run iTunes, if the error still exits, an then reboot computer.
- Close iTunes, disable the anti-virus software temporarily.
- Re-run iTunes and re-sync the device.
- Turn off Genius in iTunes, and click View tab, and then click “Hide Genius Sidebar”.

Thanks, the anti virus was the problem. Once removed it worked
