  3. Type net stop wuauserv and press Enter.
  4. Type rmdir %windir%\SoftwareDistribution /S /Q and press Enter.
  5. Type net start wuauserv and press Enter.
  6. Try to update the Windows and check the error is fixed or not.
Fix #4: Check your Registry
  1. Pressing Windows + R to open the Run dialogue box.
  2. Type the regedit.exe and press Enter to open the register editor Window.
  3. Navigate to the left pane or Registry editor to the following key:
