  4. In the Customize Settings window, select Turn off Windows Firewall and click OK.
Method 2: Run the BITS troubleshooter
  1. Press “Windows Logo” + “W” keys from the keyboard.
  2. Type “Troubleshooting” in the search bar and press “Enter”.
  3. In the “Troubleshooting” window, click on “View All” on the left pane.
  4. Click on “Background Intelligent Transfer Service”.
  5. Click on “Advanced” and then click on “Run as Administrator”.
  6. fClick “Next” and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the troubleshooting process.
Method 3: Reset Windows Update components
  1. Click on Start; in the start search type cmd.
  2. Right click on cmd.exe and choose to “Run as administrator”.
  3. Type the following command and press Enter after typing each command net stop wuauserv net stop bits
  4. If you’re at C:\windows\system32 prompt, type cd.. to get back to c:\windows
  5. Once you’re at c:\windows, type the following command and press Enter. ren softwaredistribution softwaredistribution.old
  6. Restart the stopped services by typing the following commands: net start wuauserv net start bits
  7. Close the command prompt.
